A Sister’s Mission: Tanya’s Story
They say pain births purpose—and that couldn’t be more true for me. I lost my brother, Carlos “Dinky” Dorsey, to senseless gun violence. He wasn’t just my sibling—we were only 15 months apart. He was my best friend, my heart, and someone the community looked up to.
After handling his funeral arrangements with no life insurance, no guidance, and an unimaginable amount of grief, I knew there had to be a better way. Dinky’s Angels Foundation Inc. is my way of making sure no other family walks that road alone. This is a movement rooted in love, grief, and legacy.
The Light of Dinky's Life
Carlos “Dinky” Dorsey was known as the Prince of Alief—respected for his loyalty, his big heart, and a wisdom that stretched far beyond his years. He loved hard, gave freely, and never turned his back on his people.
He left behind two sons, Cameron Dorsey and Kaden Dorsey, a grieving mother, a devoted sister, three brothers, his father, his grandmother, and a tribe of aunts, uncles, and a heartbroken community that still feels the weight of his absence today.
Dinky wasn’t just loved—he was cherished. He was the type of man who made you feel safe, seen, and understood.
Through this foundation, we carry his light by lifting others. Whether it’s helping a family bury a loved one, comforting a child who’s experienced trauma, or simply showing up when no one else does—Dinky’s love still lives here. His life wasn’t in vain, and his light continues to shine through every family we support and every life we touch.

Grief doesn’t come with a manual, but we’re here to help you through it. We provide grief counseling, support groups, and emergency aid to families in crisis—especially after sudden loss due to violence.
Building a Healing Community
From remembrance events to our annual festival, we create spaces where families can gather, share their stories, and heal together. This is how we create unity, resilience, and powerful transformation.
Creating Lasting Impact
Through the Dinky’s Angels Festival, partnerships, and community giving, we fund burial costs, mental health programs, and mentorship opportunities for at-risk youth. Our impact reaches beyond the grave—it builds legacies.
